Privacy Policy
This explains what personal data Web Nuvo collects, why, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Web Nuvo is a UK business. Our full registered business details (legal name, address and company number) will be shown here once registration is complete. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Our ICO registration number will be added here. To contact us about privacy, email hello@webnuvo.com or use the contact form on our website.
What we collect and why
| Who | What we collect | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| People who use our contact form or free demo builder | Name, business name, business type, phone, email, address, logo, colour choices, message | To build your demo and reply to you | Legitimate interests; steps before a contract at your request |
| Clients | Contact details, billing details, Direct Debit details (held by GoCardless), contract records, messages, website content | To provide our services, take payment and support you | Contract; legal obligation (tax records) |
| Businesses we may contact | Business name, category, business phone, address, public rating and review count, from public Google Maps listings | To offer our services to businesses that don't have a website | Legitimate interests (business-to-business marketing) |
| Website visitors | Technical data such as IP address and browser type, kept by our host for security | To keep the website secure and working | Legitimate interests |
Business calls and how to opt out
We find businesses from public listings and may phone them to offer our services. Before calling, we check numbers against the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and Corporate TPS. If you ask us not to contact you, we add you to our do-not-contact list straight away and won't contact you again. Tell us on the call, or email hello@webnuvo.com or use the contact form on our website.
Cookies and storage
Our website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. It stores small items in your browser so it works as you'd expect: your chosen currency, and the details you type into the demo builder. They stay on your device. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them. If we add analytics later, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
Who we share data with
We never sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Web Nuvo:
- Hostinger: website hosting and email
- GoCardless and Stripe: payments
- Our e-signature provider: signing agreements
- Apify: finding public business listings
- Google: fonts, maps, and Google Business profiles we manage for clients
- Meta: WhatsApp messages and bots
- Our accountant, and authorities such as HMRC when the law requires it
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Demo and enquiry details that don't lead to an agreement | 24 months from last contact |
| Business listings we haven't converted | 12 months from last contact, or straight away if you object |
| Client records and invoices | 6 years after the agreement ends (tax law) |
| Client website data (orders, bookings) | 90 days after the agreement ends, after handover |
| Do-not-contact list | For as long as we market to businesses, so we keep respecting your request |
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or move it to another provider. You can object to our use of your data at any time, including for marketing. We reply within one month.
If you're unhappy, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
Web Nuvo Builder accounts
If you use the Builder, we keep your name, email address, a scrambled (hashed) copy of your password, your website content and photos, and the orders, bookings, quote requests and messages your website receives (including questions passed on by the website assistant). We use these to run your account and websites. For the customers of your website, you are the controller of their details and we process them for you. Lawful basis: contract. When you delete your account, we delete all of this straight away, apart from short-lived backups.
Our clients' customers
When we host ordering, booking or contact features for a client, including websites made with the Web Nuvo Builder, the client decides how their customers' data is used. They are the controller, and we process it for them. Please contact the business you ordered from or booked with about that data.
Security
We use HTTPS on all sites, keep access to client data to people who need it, and use providers with strong security. No system is perfectly secure, so we'll tell you and the ICO if a breach puts your data at risk, as the law requires.
Changes
We'll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
